Beautiful Storytelling for Every Era
Black theatre tells the beautiful stories of Black people building and living lives in America. Through costuming, we help bring those stories to life--a Reconstruction-era freedman's Sunday best, a 1950s Chicago kitchenette dress, a 1920s Harlem Renaissance evening look or a 1960s Civil Rights-era Sunday suit. Our costume historian, stylists, and alterations team gets this distinction right so production reads as authentic, not costume-store generic.
Simply tell us a bit about your production, your unique perspective on the production, desired costuming mood, and share your measurements.
Our costumers will tailor your costume to fit your measurements (so measure twice!).
Rent a full costume and we'll provide free accessories like parasols, handkerchiefs, scarves, ties, gloves, and costume jewelry (excludes hats). Wigs and hats available for rent.
Makeup, shoes, wigs and hair, props, and accessories also available for purchase.

Durable Costumes
Durable Costumes
Our costumes are not brand-new. In fact, they've appeared in thousands of productions (much like the costumes worn on Broadway). We employ a proprietary process of building costumes that will last many years, can be altered easily to fit virtually any body type, and can be laundered without chemical/industrial procesing.
