Summary: Flower Drum Song centers on Mei Li, an immigrant from China arriving in San Francisco for an arranged marriage, only to find a complex love triangle.  She is meant to marry Sammy Fong, the owner of a Chinatown nightclub, but he actually loves Linda Low, a glamorous dancer at his club. Meanwhile, Sammy tries to set Mei Li up with Wang Ta, the son of a traditional opera house owner who is torn between old-world traditions and modern American life.
