Summary: Driven by fierce ambition, an overbearing single mother named Rose drags her young daughters, June and Louise, across America in a cheesy vaudeville child act. After years of struggling, June grows tired of the control and elopes, leaving the act stranded. Desperate to keep her showbiz dreams alive, Rose shifts her intense focus onto the neglected Louise. When the group accidentally winds up at a burlesque house, and Louise is forced to perform a striptease to save the booking, she becomes a massive, elegant star, leading to a bitter confrontation with her mother.
