Show Plot Moana

Time Period: Approximately 2,000 years ago, during The Long Pause era 

Setting: the fictional Polynesian island of Motunui

Summary:  On the island of Motunui, Moana is groomed by her father to become the next chief, but she feels an irresistible pull toward the ocean. When the island's coconuts rot and fish vanish due to a creeping environmental blight, her beloved Gramma Tala reveals a secret: their ancestors were voyagers who stopped sailing after the demigod Maui stole the heart of the mother island, Te Fiti.  Chosen by the ocean itself, Moana sets sail to find Maui and convince him to return the stolen heart, healing the ocean, and re-establishing her people as a proud nation of wayfinders.
