Summary:  Captain Billy Buck Chandler wants to be the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.  He meets and falls in love with Edith Herbert, a former English Channel swimmer who is the star attraction of the International Aquacade, run by a controlling figure named Prince Nicolai. With the help of a high society mentor, Billy muddles through various misadventures and romantic pursuits, in his attempt to win Edith over.
