Summary:
Ruddigore, or The Witch's Curse is a comic operetta that satirizes Victorian melodrama and ghost stories. The premise of the story is that centuries ago a wicked ancestor of the Murgatroyd family abused a witch. She cursed the family so that every lord of Ruddigore in every generation must commit a crime every single day or die in horrible agony.
