Summary:
Sugar is a 1972 Broadway musical based on the 1959 classic comedy film Some Like It Hot. Two unemployed musicians, Joe and Jerry, witness a mob-related gangland shooting in Chicago.Desperate to escape the mob, they disguise themselves in drag as "Josephine" and "Daphne" and join an all-female touring band. Complications arise when Joe/Josephine falls head over heels for Sugar Kane, the band's gorgeous lead singer and Jerry/Daphne is relentlessly pursued by a wealthy, eccentric elderly millionaire named Osgood Fielding Jr. Hilarity and chaos peak when the mobsters track the band down to Miami, threatening to expose the musicians' true identities.
