Summary:  In this satirical musical, Jonathan Peachum runs a syndicate of beggars and is furious when he discovers his daughter, Polly, has secretly married Macheath, the city’s most notorious and elusive criminal gang leader.  Peachum demands Macheath be arrested and hanged, but he proves difficult to capture.
