Time Period: A "not so distant" future

Setting: A gloomy, Gotham-like, economically devastated city

Summary: Private toilets are illegal, and peeing for free is a crime punishable by being sent to the mysterious, dreaded "Urinetown". Public facilities are run for profit by the ruthless Caldwell B. Cladwell and his Urine Good Company.  When old man Strong is hauled away for illegally relieving himself, his son, Bobby Strong, launches a revolution demanding free use of the public restrooms.
