Summary:  Colonel Fairfax is wrongfully accused of sorcery and sentenced to be beheaded within the hour.  To prevent his estate from falling into the hands of his scheming cousin (who accused him), Fairfax agrees to a secret blindfolded marriage with Elsie Maynard, a traveling street singer. But, with help from the guard Sergeant Meryll and his family, Fairfax escapes his cell, throwing the prison into utter confusion.
