Mixing Liquid by Mehron is designed to intensify the colors of loose pigments, adhere glitter and to thin makeup for use in an airbrush machine.
In glamour makeup this product can be used to stretch out expensive water based foundations by thinning out the product enough to be used in an airbrush machine.
Mixing this product with Mehron’s liquid makeup will allow those colors to be used in an airbrush for Cosplay, Stage, and Effects. See your airbrush manufacturer’s instruction manual for more on this subject.
Mixing Liquid can be used with Pressed Powder Eye Shadows. It will intensify the color while giving the application durability.
Used instead of water with Pancake Foundation or to activate water based paint such as Mehron’s Paradise line it will provide sweat resistant, smear free staying power.
When mixed with fine glitter it will adhere the glitter to your skin preventing glitter from flaking off everywhere.
When used with Mehron’s Metallic Powders or Precious Gem Powders this product really shines. The color vibrancy is much greater when applied with mixing liquid as opposed to a dry application of powder and will help keep the powder from rubbing off. This will also work with mineral pigment makeup. The mixture of powder and liquid can also be applied to hair to make amazing temporary highlights.
There are a couple ways to use this product. For either method the first recommendation is to find a small dropper bottle and fill that up with the mixing liquid. Be sure to label the bottle clearly. A small amount of Mixing Liquid goes a long way and this makes doling out small portions easy. The first method is essentially Dip-Dip-Apply. You will need two small containers and a brush. One container holds a small amount of Mixing Liquid the other container holds the pigment, glitter, etc. Simply dip the brush into the liquid, dip the brush into the pigment, then apply. Doing this once with the Metallic Powder is nearly enough to cover the back of an adult hand. This method works great for small areas, eye shadows, and highlights.
For larger areas find a small container and start with a ratio of about one part Mixing Liquid and two parts pigment, glitter, etc - feel free to adjust the ratio to your liking and application. This product is alcohol based so be wary of evaporation. You may need to add more Mixing Liquid as you go along. Larger amounts can be made up ahead of time providing it is saved in small airtight containers. Use plastic containers and add a couple small ball bearings to it. They will help mix the colors back together before use. The colors and liquid will separate and you will need to shake the mixture up for a couple minutes.
Overall this is a very versatile product lending itself to all kinds of experimentations. Mixing liquid is Vegan, Cruelty Free, and proudly made in the U.S.A.
