The magician then appears to insert the tube into the side of the balloon, while actually using a slight of hand technique to make it appear that the tube has penetrated the balloon.
he magician then removes the tube and shows the balloon to be unharmed.
The magician repeats the process, but this time the balloon pops, seemingly as a result of the insertion of the metal tube. In reality, the magician has secretly inserted a sharp object into the metal tube during the trick, causing the balloon to pop upon the second insertion.
