Charley's Aunt: Brandon Thomas' Victorian farce follows the extravagant ruses of two Oxford undergraduates, Jack Chesney and Charley Wyckeham, as they try to win the hands of Kitty Verdun and Amy Spettigue. When Charley's aunt Donna Lucia d'Alvadorez, whom they conspire to use as a chaperone to meet with their girls, doesn't show up as scheduled, the boys convince their friend Lord Fancourt Babberly, known affectionately as Babbs, to impersonate her. Babbs' own love troubles surface with the arrival of Jack's father, Sir Francis Chesney and the real Donna Lucia with her guard Miss Ela Delehay. Soon, long lost histories resurface to complicate the situation. With a few tricks and a great deal of confusion and indignation, all three young men as well as Sir Francis find happiness with their respective women.
