Girl Crazy
Girl Crazy:
Music and Lyrics by George Gershwin. Book by Guy Bolton and Jack McGowan. New York City playboy, Danny Churchill, is sent by his parents to work in the mostly-male population of Arizona, in hopes that he will get his mind off girls and learn to appreciate the more serious things in life. However, with the help of his friends, he establishes a dude ranch and brings in Broadway showgirls. The ranch becomes a tourist hot spot, and the local postmistress, Molly Gray, catches Danny’s eye. Filled with classic Gershwin tunes such as “Embraceable You,” “I Got Rhythm,” and “But Not For Me,” this production offers the opportunity for numerous character roles and large dance numbers.
