I Do, I Do
I Do, I Do: A popular community theatre production, I Do, I Do uses an episodic format to tell the fifty year story of Agnes and Michael Snow, married in 1895. With just two characters and one setting, the couple's bedroom, writer Tom Jones and composer Harvey Schmidt convey the complex realities, great joys and frustrations of marriage. Agnes and Michael share a tender, but awkward wedding night, two children, a successful career that results in an affair and their children's marriages. They are joyous together and furious at each other, but learn to grow old together, eventually leaving their large house and four poster bed to a new young couple. Some popular songs include: "My Cup Runneth Over," "Flaming Agnes," "The Honeymoon is Over," "When the Kids Get Married" and "Someone Needs Me."
