Man of La Mancha: Miguel de Cervantes' seventeenth century masterpiece, Don Quixote, comes to the stage with a book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion and music by Mitch Leigh. In this Tony winning musical, Cervantes and his manservant are locked in a dungeon waiting to be tried by the Spanish Inquisition. To defend themselves in a mock trial setup by their fellow inmates, Cervantes and his manservant act out a manuscript about Alonso Quijana, an old gentleman who has spent his life reading books of chivalry and now believes himself to be a knight-errant, bound to right the injustices he sees around him.
