Mean Girls

Mean Girls: Music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and book by Tina Fey. Based on the hit 2004 movie of the same name, Mean Girls follows the naïve and homeschooled Cady Heron as she relocates from the African savanna to a cliquey high school in the Chicago suburbs. After befriending outsiders, Janis and Damian, Cady learns about her new school’s social hierarchy and to avoid the “Plastics”, a trio of girls at the top of the student body’s pecking order. After being invited to sit with the Plastics at lunch, Cady begins to understand why the mean girls are so reviled and conspire with Janis and Damien to topple the reign of the Plastics’ charming but ruthless queen bee, Regina George.
