Set in the 1970's during the Vietnam War, Miss Saigon follows the doomed romance of an American GI named Chris Scott and a Vietnamese bar girl named Kim. The fall of Saigon makes Chris leave without Kim, though they pledge their love to one another. As we travel forward in time we learn of Chris getting married and Kim having had his baby. Based on Giacomo Puccini's Madame Butterfly, we see how no matter what the distance, Kim and Chris are and always will be connected, and their journey to try to come back together, even if for different reasons.
