Tartuffe

Tartuffe: One of Molière’s most famous comedies, Tartuffe follows the titular hypocrite as he takes up residence in the rich merchant Orgon’s household. Tartuffe dupes Orgon into believing that his guest is a pious man of God. Orgon becomes so smitten by Tartuffe that he plans to give the imposter his home, his fortune, and even his daughter. It is up to Elmire, Orgon’s wife, to expose the fraud for who he really is.
